Transportation Options is proud to partner with this program

The Salem-Keizer Safe Routes to School programs promotes access to walking, bicycling, and rolling to school for students and families. By providing education, activities, and resources, they work to make it easier for students to choose active and shared transportation options for navigating their communities.

Since 2017, staff from the Transportation Options program at Cherriots have been active in the development, growth, and support of the local Salem-Keizer program. And while COVID-19 has made in-person activities and events difficult, they have been able to come up with creative ways to reach students with resources. Over the summer and fall of 2020, they provided free bicycle repair events at several locations throughout Salem and Keizer with support from Transportation Options.

The program is housed within the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments and they have recently launched their web site at sksaferoutes.org. Please visit the site to learn more about this great program.
