We are always looking for ways to make your experience better and that often starts and ends at our bus stops. With over 800 bus stops in our system, there is a lot to look after to make sure they are clean, safe, and accessible. Check out some of the projects we are working on to continually improve our bus stops.
Cherriots Local Bus Stop Improvement Project
This project will bring 75 existing stops into ADA compliance by adding an ADA loading pad. Some stops will also receive additional basic amenities, such as benches, trash cans, and informational signage.
Project Status
As of December 2025, 60 stops have been improved. Work on the remaining stops is ongoing. Engineering designs were completed in August 2025 and a construction contractor was selected in December 2025.
Construction work is scheduled to begin on the remaining stops in January 2026. Construction is expected to be complete by May 2026.
Simme-Seat Installation Project
This project will install 25 Simme-seats at bus stops within the Salem-Keizer Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) to increase the number of stops that provide seating.
Project Status
In January 2026, 25 Simme-seats were delivered to Cherriots. Installations will occur as staff capacity allows.
