Transportation is a key determinant of health and wellness. Multiple studies show that 80 to 90 percent of people want to stay in their homes as long as possible. One of the most important elements of a livable community is adequate transportation to access medical care and other essential services.

About every four years, the Coordinated Plan Update evaluates transportation funding strategies for seniors and people with disabilities. The results guide funding from the State of Oregon to Cherriots, the funding administrator for services in Marion and Polk counties. Cherriots is committed to creating community connections and delivering valued mobility options that inspire community pride. For more background, view the 2019 Coordinated Plan.

Decisions made today on how to invest in transportation options for seniors and people with disabilities will affect the future quality of life for thousands of Marion and Polk county community members.

Calling all Marion and Polk County seniors, people experiencing disabilities, caregivers, service providers, and family members!

Please take our survey here. The survey will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22.
